Herms District Advancement and Recognition

Council and District Role: The function of advancement and recognition is to maintain and promote an advancement program in all units in the district so that Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, and Venturers will have the maximum opportunity to advance and be recognized publicly for their achievements. — Council and District Plan Book (2009)

Advancement Program Information

The Herms District advancement program includes:

  1. Monthly Eagle Scout / Quartermaster Project Reviews, 3rd Thursday, 7pm, at Camp Herms Lodge
  2. Eagle Scout Boards of Review (as required)
  3. Camp Herms Environment and Conservation ChecK (Boy Scout merit badge camp), 2ndweekend in March
  4. Herms District Recognition Dinner in May
  5. Promotion of Camp Herms Tenderfoot to First Class Resident Camp in August
  6. Promotion of AdvanceCamp (Boy Scout merit badge camp) in September, http://www.advancecamp.com/

Advancement JTE Goals (2013)

District JTE objective #6: Cub Scout advancement: Increase the percentage of Cub Scouts earning rank advancement. Gold level: 75%

District JTE objective #7: Boy Scout advancement: Increase the percentage of Boy Scouts and Varsity Scouts earning rank advancement. Gold level: 50%
