Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills Training

Camping trainingWHAT: IOLS Training is a fun-filled overnighter and program of hands-on skill training designed to help Boy Scout and Varsity program leaders master the basic skills necessary for a scout to advance from Tenderfoot to First Class.

WHO: Required for all Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters and Varsity Coaches

WHEN: Friday – Saturday, October 14, 15, 2016
Check In: Friday, October 14 – 4:30 – 6:00pm
Training: Friday 6:00pm through Saturday 5:00pm (This is a rain or shine event!)

WHERE: Girl Scout Propety,  4550 Cordelia Road Fairfield, CA  94534

COST: $30.00  Fee includes Cracker Barrel on Friday, and Saturday breakfast and lunch.
Registration deadline: October 10, 2016

Register now, and learn how to set up camp, cook, work with wood tools, knot tying and lashing, first aid, campfire planning, map reading and compass skills, hiking and camping techniques, plant and animal identification, and Outdoor Ethics.

Things to bring:  A tent, sleeping bag & pad, a mess kit with drinking hot/cold cup, a camp chair, the 10 essentials found in the Scout Handbook, and Scouting Spirit!
